I'm Collin Powers, a forward-thinking entrepreneur with a robust technical background and a strong passion for innovation. With a MA in Business from the University of Edinburgh, I have honed my skills in areas like business development, strategic partnerships, and financial acumen. Prior to my business career, I was a professional tennis player from 2009 to 2015, playing tournaments in the USA, Europe, and the Caribbean, while also teaching tennis in Dutch to supplement my prize money. This unique experience has given me a deep understanding of perseverance, discipline, and the importance of continuous learning, which I have carried over into my entrepreneurial journey
In 2020, I embarked on a new chapter as the Managing Director of Ellyra Ltd. Here, I developed and launched state-of-the-art VR tennis training software, revolutionizing the way training is conducted in the sport. Leveraging my technical skills in VR development, C#, Python 3, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Vue.js, and Firebase, I was able to create a product that reduces barriers to entry in the sport. Additionally, I successfully secured funding through various means, including convertible debt and equity financing, to meet the company's financial requirements. I also managed HR-related matters, ensuring the well-being of our staff
Throughout my tenure at Ellyra Ltd, I managed to garner media attention through multiple outlets in the UK and abroad, including STV News, The Scotsman, Digit.FYI, Startups Magazine, and The TAB. I was also part of Scottish Enterprise’s High Growth Ventures cohort. As I move forward, my goal is to continue leveraging my skills and experiences to contribute to ambitious growth plans and drive innovation in the business landscape. When I'm not busy with my professional commitments, I enjoy exploring new technologies and keeping up with the latest trends in the tech industry
